The Nunavut Disabilities Makinnasuaqtiit Society (NDMS) was promoting Movember with Wing Night (the band) on Dec. 7. The event was scheduled to start at 10:30 p.m. at the Store House in Iqaluit.
NDMS is an organization that advocates the inclusion of individuals with disabilities and barriers.
“We like to promote wellness and well-being in the community. Tobacco reduction is a good way to promote wellness and well-being,” stated Issac Mensah, an Employment Specialist at NDMS.
“Wing Night likes to use entertainment to promote healthy living. They decided to support us.”
The Toronto band is a hip-hop and R&B cover band that specializes in the classics of the 90’s.
It was a night of enjoying hip-hop and R&B music while creating awareness of healthy living.
To encourage inclusivity the event was free of charge.
