The hampers were made possible with a very generous donation to the community from Agnico Eagle.

Deliveries began late in the afternoon of Nov 21 and were scheduled to be fully completed by the end of the day on Nov. 22.

Volunteers knocked on household doors to announce the arrival of the food hampers and left them just outside the door to ensure non-contact delivery.

People living in apartments and large multiplex buildings in Rankin Inlet, including Old Ilia, New Ilia, Tapariit, 33 Plex, 18 Plex and 200 block units, were scheduled to receive their deliveries from members of the local fire department throughout the day on Nov. 22. Sirens were sounded outside the buildings to announce the deliveries.
