Four new cases of of COVID-19 in Iqaluit

15,707 people in Nunavut have been fully vaccinated so far

There are now four new cases of COVID-19 announced in Iqaluit today, bringing the amount of active cases in the capital to six.

“As a reminder, the COVID vaccines are our best defence against the virus. If you haven’t made an appoint for you or your teen, please call your health centre ASAP,” wrote Premier Joe Savikataaq on social media.

“In Iqaluit, both adults and 12 to 17 year olds can be vaccinated at next week’s walk-in clinic.

Thus far 15,707 people in Nunavut, including rotational workers, have been vaccinated, with a further 2,178 people receiving their first dose.

There have been 253 recoveries since this outbreak began in April.
