Man wanted on second-degree murder charge arrested in Baker Lake

RCMP arrested a 33-year-old man in Baker Lake on July 15 who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder.

RCMP arrested a 33-year-old man in Baker Lake on July 15 who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder.

Corey Clarke stands accused of the crime in Prince Albert, Sask.

He is in custody following a bail hearing and arrangements have been made with police in Saskatchewan to transport Clarke back to Prince Albert, according to the Mounties.

Shortly after the police announced the arrest, rumours began circulating that Clarke was an employee at Agnico Eagle’s Meadowbank complex. However, the mining company issued a news release to clarify that he is not an employee or a contractor and has never been on any of Agnico Eagle’s sites.
