One new case of COVID-19 and five recoveries were announced on Tuesday morning, bringing the number of active coronavirus cases in Nunavut down to 13, according to the Government of Nunavut (GN).
Twelve of the cases are in Iqaluit while one remains in Kinngait.
There have been 232 recoveries since this outbreak started in April.
A total of 17,052 Nunavummiut have received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine while 14,220 are now fully vaccinated.
Nunavut is also slated to received its first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine – 9,360 shots of the vaccine are to arrive between June 7 and 13, according to the Government of Canada’s vaccine shipment page.
The Pfizer vaccine is one of the first vaccines to be approved for use in people 12 and up and the GN has since approved it for Nunavummiut.
