The Qulliit Nunavut Status of Women Council announced its first annual missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls memorial project earlier this month.

Shopping tote bags with a logo designed by Iqaluit-based artist Megan Hunt has been distributed to the hamlets of all Nunavut communities.

They were designed to commemorate Indigenous women and girls whose lives were taken through acts of violence, and are meant to serve as a reminder to always remember these women and girls, as well as those struggling with violence.

For more information, contact the Qulliit office in Iqaluit.
