The Department of Health has lifted the boil water advisory for Rankin Inlet effective immediately, Friday, Dec. 3.

The advisory was first issued Nov. 19 as a precautionary measure due to scheduled maintenance on the water treatment plant.

While it was in effect, Rankin residents had opened watering holes at Ijaralik for people to get fresh water, and the hamlet kept the road to Ijaralik clear.
