Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is advising residents of Rankin Inlet to make an effort to conserve power for the next two weeks while emergency repairs are being made to local generator engines.

On Monday, QEC asked for the community’s assistance to ensure a reliable power supply during this period by taking measures such as lowering thermostats to 20 C and only using high-energy appliances — such as stoves, ovens, washers and dryers — after 7 p.m.

QEC would like to thank residents for their understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
