A Kinngait man faces 21 charges after an alleged home invasion occurred in the community on July 28, the RCMP said.

Police were called to a residence for assistance on Wednesday, but there was no answer at the door.

The officers used force to enter the home and found four individuals inside.

Allen Oshutsiaq, located in the washroom, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering into a dwelling house, forcible confinement, assault and several firearms offences, according to an RCMP news release issued Thursday.

Oshutsiaq is scheduled to appear before a justice of the peace on Thursday.

Alcohol was a factor in this incident, the RCMP stated.
