Aiming for cadet marksmanship nationals

Five members of the 3004 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps' air rifle marksmanship team will be off to Wetaskiwin, AB, to compete in a western and northern regional meet on April 6.

The top-placing competitors at that level will advance to the national championships in Victoria in May.

Representing the Cambridge Bay cadets will be senior-level competitors warrant officer Teghan Angulalik and Sgt. Dasha Erikson along with junior-level competitors Master Cpl. Dustin Sim, Cpl. Malachai Angulalik and cadet Cameron Gillard. Lieut. Chris Kalluk will be their coach and escort.

Sgt. Cyril Angulalik is a spare in the event a teammate is unable to compete.

The Cambridge Bay cadets qualified for the western and northern regional meet by placing second in the territorial category and first in the second stage of the Nunavut competition.
