City of Iqaluit ends all recreation programs and closes rec facilities

All Iqaluit recreation facilities are now closed and recreation programming is cancelled entirely.

The City of Iqaluit has announced the temporary closure of all recreation facilities and cancellation of all recreation programs "in light of the rapidly changing situation around the COVID-19 pandemic."

There will be no activities at any of these facilities: Arctic Winter Games Complex, Arnaitok Arena, Aquatic Centre, Curling Rink, Elders Qammaq and the Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre.

The City stated that it will reassess the cancellations and closures by April 7 and notify the public of any changes.
