The announcement came on Friday afternoon from Premier and Environment Minister Joe Savikataaq.

“Mr. Noble has been a great asset to the Government of Nunavut in various roles,
including his most recent position as the director of emergency management services," said Savikataaq. "His broad experience in wildlife conservation and environmental enforcement make him an ideal fit to lead the Department of Environment. I look forward to working closely with Mr. Noble to ensure responsible development, balanced with sustainability and
stewardship remains a priority for our government."

Noble takes over from acting deputy minister Steve Pinksen, who guided the
Department since December 2018.
