Kotierk, Nakashuk in two-way race for Nunavut Tunngavik president

As it stands, incumbent Aluki Kotierk will face only one challenger – Andrew Nakashuk – as land claims organization Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated holds an election for president on Dec. 14.

Nominations closed at 5 p.m. on Friday.

The two candidates have until Monday at 5 p.m. to withdraw their papers.

NTI voters who must be 16 years or older as of Dec. 14 and must be enrolled under the Nunavut agreement will be able to vote in advance polls on Dec. 7, by mail-in ballot, by proxy vote, by mobile poll and in-person on voting day, Dec. 14.
