Lightstone submitted a written question to the minister responsible for the Qulliq Energy Corporation on Feb. 21 with the intent of learning details of how the power corporation is administering the staff housing at its disposal across the territory.

Lightstone submitted a similar written question last year in relation to the GN’s staff housing allocation and it was revealed that Inuit only occupied 26 per cent of GN residences despite making up 50 per cent of the territorial government workforce.

“I hope that, in the response to my written question, I will see improved figures with the Qulliq Energy Corporation’s staff housing allocation,” Lightstone said.
