Iqaluit RCMP have charged a 29-year-old Iqaluit man with several violations of the Nunavut Liquor Act, including selling alcohol to a minor, after seizing twenty-one 60-ounce bottles of liquor and a large amount of cash from a residence in the city on Wednesday.

Gabriel Martinez has been released from custody and is due to return to court on Aug. 20 to answer to the charges.
“Bootlegging remains to be a concerning issue that is harming our beautiful communities and I encourage people to come forward to help reduce the harm and help keep our communities safe” RCMP Cpl. Jamie Savikataaq stated in a Thursday news release.
