The RCMP have laid charges against a Kinngait resident after a man barricaded himself inside a residence and an 18-hour standoff ensued with police on Wednesday.
Joanie Ragee of Kinngait faces charges of assault, uttering threats and breach of court conditions.
Ragee remains in police custody with his next court appearance scheduled for
March 2.
The RCMP called in support from the Nunavut RCMP Crisis Negotiation and Containment Teams and the Ottawa RCMP Emergency Response Team to resolve the incident.
