RCMP investigating homicide in Pond Inlet; suspect arrested

The RCMP have arrested a suspect as they investigate the killing of a 23-year-old man in Pond Inlet. 

The death occurred in the early morning hours on Friday, according to the police. The Nunavut RCMP Major Crime Unit has been sent to the community to assist in the investigation, which is in its early stages.

The Forensic Identification Section are Unit and the Nunavut Office of the Chief Coroner are also involved in the case.

The RCMP said its officers’ thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
