RCMP resolve alleged armed barricade situation in Iglulik

Iglulik RCMP peacefully resolved a crisis situation involving an alleged armed and barricaded individual in a residence in the early morning hours on Saturday.

The Mounties’ Containment Response Team and crisis negotiators made contact with the suspect and eventually arrested the person. The suspect’s identity was not publicly released and there was no mention of charges filed.

Neighboring houses were evacuated and ensure safety, the police stated in a news release.

The RCMP extended thanks to community members for their assistance and cooperation.
