Art Sateana, 21, of Rankin Inlet was announced as the 2017 recipient of the $5,000 Qulliq Energy Corp's Laura Ulluriaq Gauthier Scholarship this past month.
The scholarship is presented each year to a student pursuing a post-secondary degree.
Sateana, a straight A student, is enrolled in the third year of working toward his bachelor of science degree at the University of Manitoba's Health Careers Access Program in Winnipeg.
Sateana plans on eventually earning his medical degree and working in Nunavut as a doctor.
