Iqaluit's spring festival Toonik Tyme will proceed next month with a modified schedule of events, and an attempt will be made to break the Guinness world record for the largest snowmobile parade.

1,047 snow machines, a mark set in Whitecourt, Alberta.
Other outdoor activities will include snowmobile races and a variety of games for adults and children. The only exception will be the Giant Bingo, but details for that event are still being determined, according to the board for non-profit 123 Go!, which organizes the festival.
“Keeping our community healthy is the number one priority of this organization so we have made some modifications to what Toonik Tyme has traditionally looked like,” said Pitseolak Alainga.
Activities are planned for April 22-25, with the Guinness world record attempt to be held May 1.
