Welcome to beautiful spring weather in Cambridge Bay. Soon we will have early summer. Lots of water on the fast-melting ocean and lakes and river here is already at full flowing.
Residents are already getting Arctic char, which is early. Weather and melting snow and ice are early this year. Soon everyone will be casting, maybe up at the river. Cambridge Bay is known as Arctic char country, there are many of them. The best tasting fish up here on the island.
Be safe when travelling on the land. Soon there will be no more travelling on the ice. Many fishers and hunters travel by all-terrain vehicles — a convenient and best way to travel up here on the land.
Every year the Hamlet of Cambridge Bay and organizers like the Cambridge Bay Housing Association work together to have garbage cleanup around our beautiful community. Please participate and clean up your yards to keep our community clean. There are posters and notices about the annual garbage cleanup and pickup dates.
